Privacy Policy

1. Who we are

cubemetrics.app (“cubemetrics”, “we”) is a speedcubing timer and CFOP coach run from India. This policy explains what we collect when you use the site, why, and how you can control it.

2. Information we collect

• Account details: when you sign up, your email address, name and profile picture (if you sign in with Google or another provider), and a profile ID we generate.
• Your cubing data: solve times, scrambles, penalties, reconstructions you paste in, and which algs you mark as learning or known.
• Usage counts: which scrambles you opened a walkthrough for each day, so we can apply the daily limit. If you aren't signed in we count by a one-way hash of your IP address, not the address itself.
• Payment details: if you upgrade, the profile ID, UPI transaction screenshot and anything else you submit in the upgrade form. The screenshot can show your name, UPI ID, amount and transaction reference. We don't see or store your bank or card details.
• Technical data: standard server logs (IP address, browser, pages requested, errors) kept by our hosting provider for security and debugging.

Your browser also stores your timer settings and, while you're signed out, your solves (local storage). They move to your account when you sign in. We use only the cookies needed to keep you signed in. There is no advertising and no cross-site tracking.

3. How we use it

• To run the timer, walkthroughs, coaching and alg trainer, and to save your history
• To apply plan limits and to verify payments and activate Pro
• To answer your messages and tell you about important changes to the service
• To keep the service secure and prevent abuse, such as creating many accounts to get around limits

We do not sell or rent your personal information, or share it with anyone for marketing.

4. Services we rely on

These process data for us under their own privacy policies:

• Clerk for sign-up and sign-in (privacy policy)
• Vercel for hosting (privacy policy)
• Neon for the database that stores accounts and solves (privacy policy)
• The form provider that hosts the upgrade form, for payment submissions

Some of these providers store data outside India.

5. Data retention

We keep your account and cubing data until you delete your account or ask us to. Daily usage counts are kept only as long as needed to apply limits and spot abuse. Payment submissions are kept as long as we need them for our records and tax purposes.

6. Your rights

You can see and delete your solves in the app, and update or delete your account from the account menu. You can also ask us to access, correct, export or erase any personal data we hold about you, or withdraw your consent, by writing to hello@cubemetrics.app. We'll reply within 30 days. These rights include the ones you have under India's Digital Personal Data Protection Act, 2023.

7. Children

Lots of cubers are young. If you're under 18, please use cubemetrics with a parent or guardian's permission, and have them make any payment. If you think a child has given us personal data without that consent, contact us and we'll delete it.

8. Changes

We may update this policy as the service changes. Material changes will be noted at the top of this page with a revised date.
